Roberta Sheffield wins TSM Rider Award at BETA 2015

Congratulations to Arden sponsored rider, Roberta Sheffield, who won the TSM Professional Rider Award presented at this year’s BETA International 2015.  The award acknowledges sponsored riders who make the greatest contribution to the trade and work hard for their sponsors.  Having been nominated by her sponsors (including Arden Wood Shavings), Bert won the Professional Rider category and was presented with the award by TSM’s, Tim Smith.

Featuring in Equestrian Trade News magazine, the editorial explains that the judges were impressed with the wide support from all her sponsors, and the professional and enthusiastic way in which she approached each sponsorship, displaying in-depth knowledge of their products and a willingness to promote at every opportunity.

British based Bert, who suffers with Rheumatoid Arthritis, is one of the world’s top para-dressage riders and holds the current title of British Dressage Para National Champion (Grade 3).  With dual nationality, she represented Canada in last year’s World Equestrian Games, finishing 4th and is 2nd in the Para Equestrian Canada Short List Rankings.  Bert also competes in able-bodied dressage.

She has not long returned from competing at Al Shaqab Invitational CPEDI3* in Qatar and has her sights firmly set on the Rio 2016 Paralympics.  Her top horses are Wonderboy, Double Agent and Bindro T.

Bert is in the second year of sponsorship from Arden Wood Shavings, and is delighted with her Safemix Equestrian bedding.  “It’s a fabulous product and I have the knowledge that my horses are on a safe, comfortable bed.  It is super-absorbent, stays in place well and generally easy to use which makes mucking out hassle-free,” says Bert Sheffield.
