Equestrian enthusiasts may already be following our sponsorship announcements on our social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. But, for those who may have missed this, we are delighted to be supporting three riders with our Safemix Equestrian bedding, all who regularly post on social media. #sponsoredbysafemix.

Tilly Davies

We describe Tilly as being ‘a Safemix Superfan’. She has been using our Safemix Equestrian bedding for over 5 years, and knows the product well so it gives us great pleasure to be sponsoring her this year. Being sponsored by Arden Wood Shavings for Tilly is “a dream come true”.

Tilly Davies Safemix Equestrian

Tilly, who is an event rider, has represented Great Britain in the Student Riders Squad describing the experience of competing for her country as “an absolute dream”.  Unfortunately, the Student Riders Nations Cup in Belgium last October had to be cancelled due to Covid-19.

Tilly had great success with a former pony, Buddy, recalling one of her proudest competition memories as going clear around their first FEI 2* cross-country course. She also qualified Buddy for the Pony Club Open Eventing Championships, which she says was “a major achievement for them both”.  Tilly says, “Buddy came to me as a green six year old and we grew together. Buddy made me the rider I am today and he’s definitely got a special place in my heart.”

Based in Suffolk, working for a racehorse trainer, riding and schooling racehorses, Tilly now has a lovely 14.2hh Connemara type gelding called Joey who is 7 years old. Tilly has owned Joey for the last couple of years but a field injury in 2019 forced Joey to take some time out, which means he is still quite ‘green’ for his age. He is also apparently quite cheeky and full of character “who will do anything for a carrot”. Tilly has plans to compete him this season, hopefully as part of some Pony Club teams, as well as some British Eventing later in the year.

Tilly is in the process of attaining her UKCC Level 2 Coaching Qualification, which was postponed due to the pandemic.

When asked what she likes so much about Safemix Equestrian bedding, Tilly says, “Having used Safemix Equestrian for so long, I would never use anything else now. I am a firm believer that a horse should have a dust-free bed in order to keep their respiratory system healthy, especially when competing, so Safemix is the perfect bedding. It is also consistently high-quality. I have had some very messy horses on Safemix and have been impressed by its absorbency, and the fact there isn’t any ammonia. There are never any wasted shavings in my barrow, making it cost-effective as well as easy to maintain.”

Tilly has her own YouTube Channel and you can also follow her on Instagram. Instagram @ tilly.davies.eventing or watch her Safemix video on YouTube here:

Jenna Palmer-Evans

Based in Warwickshire, not far from Arden Wood Shavings, Jenna show jumps, trains and produces horses. Jenna has ridden since the moment “she could sit up” and started Pony Club when she was just two and a half years old. Her love of ponies did not wane, and her competitive achievements as a junior included qualifying two ponies for Horse of the Year Show in 2012 and 2013.

Jenna Palmer-Evans

Jenna went on to live and work as a show jumping rider in Germany for 4.5 years, working for Helena Stormanns and Dirk Ahlmann, before returning to her home base in Baxterley, in North Warwickshire.

Her current string comprises 6 “and a half” horses, the half being a foal!  Jenna laughs about how many horses her mother collected while she was away. These horses include ILord, an 8 year-old 18.3hh gelding, who Jenna describes as being “King of the Stable, rather like an overgrown schoolboy”.  There is also Neranja (Peanut), another 8 year-old who is “a real angel, a mother’s dream”. Both horses are having quite a significant step up this year competing at 1.40m+ level.

Jenna also has some lovely young prospects waiting in the wings, who are 4 and 5 years old.

Talking about why she likes Safemix Equestrian bedding, Jenna says:

“Safemix has really revolutionised mucking out for me. It combines the best of everything into one product. My horses love it – they are laying down so much more – and it’s easy to manage with far less waste. This is also good for keeping the cost of muck heap removal down.

“To be supported by Arden Wood Shavings, such a well-known, prestigious company, means the absolute world to me. Everything I do is always for the good of the horses, and to be sponsored with Arden’s Safemix Equestrian Bedding is a perfect fit for my ethos.”

Georgia Padgham

Event rider and full-time groom, Georgia Padgham is based in Kent. Georgia started riding when she was 9 years old, and it wasn’t long before she had her own ponies. While she started out show jumping, it was one special pony that got her involved in eventing called Iceford Jack, whom she enjoyed real success on. Georgia evented up to Pony2* and competed at BE Novice level (110cm) for a few seasons, achieving many double clears. She describes him as “her pony of a lifetime”.

Georgia Padgham

Today, Georgia is the proud owner of her lovely horse Cyril, who is “extremely talented and the friendliest horse” she has ever known. Cyril is an 11 year-old by Grafenstolz who came to her fairly inexperienced, so she has been training him since, progressing through the levels. Cyril achieved double clear in every event last year, at BE90 and 100 level and he has qualified for the Area Festival in 2021.  Georgia has plans to compete him at BE100 level this year and also do some affiliated show jumping as Cyril is “such a fantastic jumper”.

“I am so grateful to be supported by Arden,” says Georgia. “Safemix is amazing horse bedding – so clean, bright and easy to muck out. This a huge honour for me and I look forward to working as a team with Safemix Equestrian.”

Georgia has her own YouTube Channel, and can be followed on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Twitter.  Instagram: @georgiapadgham or watch her Safemix video on YouTube here:
